Tags
Tags are your own ways to slice the books — a program, a grant, a department, a funding source. Add as many as you need, each with its own values. Every invoice, bill, journal, expense and bank line can carry one value of each tag, and any report can be filtered, grouped or cross-tabbed by them. Tags never change an amount.

A line on the account must carry the tag, or it is not saved (the form says which line). Income and expense accounts. Imported history and entries Ulix makes itself are not held to it.
See them in reports: Profit and loss by tag (one column per value, or two tags as a cross-tab).
